Alaska USA Federal Credit Union in Mt Vernon, Washington

My wife passed away 03 January 2020. She had a personal account with Alaska and I am trying to consolidate everything, no executor needed yes I had wills and powers of attorney for medical, financial and legal all presented at first visit as I am the only surviving family. Everywhere I have been and everyone's I speak with has been exceptional. Expressing condolences and assisting me, Except for the Alaska Federal credit Union. My first time going there after my wife's passing, they would not even talk to me, they said I needed a death certificate. So I got one. Next visit with the death certificate in hand they say I have to get documentation from the court showing I am authorized. So I got that. That was not good enough for them. Now they say they get to keep her money until 40 days after her passing. Needless to say I was hostile. Three visits with them only telling me the minimum and keep adding more requirements each visit. Why wasn't I told everything on the first visit? Who knows. This credit union here in Oak Harbor Wa. Is probably the worst banking experience I've ever had and they act like they Care but their actions speak louder than their words. I would not give any stars but that's not an option if you want to add comments.

Great bank! Open seven days a week. Wow. Terrific, truly courteous, and helpful staff. Bank staff is good.

I love this branch. The great location makes my happy every single time I need help.
