Commerce Bank in St Joseph, Missouri

Bad experience all around.

Inept and terrible. They do not know what they are doing. Find any other back, literally any bank. They lost a few thousand dollars of my money during an account transfer and had no idea what happened. This was the first of 3 face plants that I won't go into but they are awful. Do not bank here.

The staff is very nice and helpful.

Write someone a check from a commerce account and they refuse to cash it with valid state identification. When checks are written it's to pay the person. They find it very unsatisfactory to get written a check the issuing bank refuses to cash! Very unhappy and moving banks

Drive through staff are very pleasant.

I have been a Commerce Bank customer for 50 years. I loved going to my branch Ashland & Kearns to work with Theresa Smith, who was wonderful, but for some reason she left. The witch named Sandy Adkins who is there now is RUDE, and never willing to help with anything. It wouldn't surprise me if she did something to get Theresa to leave. Whenever I have gone to her desk, she makes this horrible face, like I'm a smelly homeless person or something. I've been shopping for a new bank after a lifetime with Commerce because the branch which is convenient for me is no longer a friendly place to go.
